Who operates this site

Transparent Salinas is an independent, volunteer civic-data project. Personal maintainer identities are not published for privacy and safety. The project can be reached through its organizational inbox at tips@transparentsalinas.org.

Visitor information

No first-party analytics or advertising

Transparent Salinas does not run first-party audience analytics, advertising trackers, marketing pixels, user accounts, or on-site submission forms. It does not sell visitor information.

Language preference

The site may store ts-lang-pref and ts-lang-banner-dismissed in your browser’s local storage. These values remember a language choice or that you dismissed the language suggestion. They stay on your device and can be cleared through browser settings.

Email

If you email the project, the message and contact information you provide are used to review and respond to the tip, correction, privacy request, or question. Email infrastructure providers may process that message. Do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary to the request.

Cloudflare hosting and security

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes network information needed to route, cache, protect, and troubleshoot requests. Depending on enabled security features, this can include IP addresses, request URLs, referring pages, device or browser signals, system configuration, and security-event logs.

Cloudflare offers JavaScript security detections, but Transparent Salinas marks its static document responses no-transform and uses a Content Security Policy that does not permit inline scripts; project pages are therefore configured not to accept that injected bootstrap. A separate Cloudflare-operated challenge page may still run security checks and set a strictly necessary cookie such as cf_clearance. Transparent Salinas does not use that cookie for advertising. Cloudflare controls its own processing and retention under its Privacy Policy, cookie documentation, and JavaScript Detections documentation.

Campaign-finance public records

The site republishes selected fields from public campaign-finance filings, including filing names, contribution amounts and dates, city, employer, occupation, committee, and expenditure information when present in the source. Transparent Salinas does not intentionally publish donor street addresses, phone numbers, personal email addresses, or bank information.

Only fields used to explain or verify campaign-finance activity are included. A contribution can appear even when its amount is below a commonly cited itemization threshold because public filings can include cumulative-threshold entries, adjustments, refunds, or voluntarily disclosed records. Cross-campaign directory entries are filing-name groups, not verified identities.

Corrections, removal, and privacy requests

Email tips@transparentsalinas.org with the page URL, the exact information at issue, and supporting documentation. Verifiable transcription or classification errors will be corrected. Requests to remove or limit public-record information are reviewed case by case, considering source accuracy, safety, data minimization, and the public interest in campaign-finance transparency. The project may suppress unnecessary sensitive detail while preserving an accurate public-record account.

For Cloudflare-held information or rights exercised directly against Cloudflare, use the contact and rights procedures in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
